I have seen pictures of hard cases with 2 or 3 extra optics for guns. I wonder what you all use for soft cases. I have an Aimpoint on my AR most of the time but I have a 1-4 scope that I want to have with me but don't a good way to protect it without it banging around in the case.

LaRue makes a soft padded case for optics as seen here. Molle compatible too if that makes any difference.

It's not cheap I know, but neither is your optic I bet.

I've looked for a case to store and carry optics, and haven't really found much. My 1-4x w/ mount does just fit into a Maxpedition 10" x 4" water bottle pouch length-wise, but there's a lot of extra room around the sides. Plus, the Maxpedition water bottle case is a lot of case to mash down to put into another case or bag for transport. The LaRue cases seem to be the best solutions out there. I think they'd be a sound investment, regardless of the value of the optic.

As I type this, my 1-4x is actually sitting loose in the pocket within the padded outer pocket of my Maxpedition Sliver II case. It has ridden there before and has been OK.

For 50 to 60 bucks, they aren't that expensive really considering. $500 for an Aimpoint and $300+ for the Nikon and 50 bucks to protect them isn't that bad.

Here's a pic of my medium size LaRue attached to my A III pack. Funny thing is I've never had an optic in it. GPS, sunglasses, etc...
Very nice and well made.
