New style S&W thumb latch-love or hate?

Am I the only one who hates the newer style thumb latch/cylinder release on S&W revolvers. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the original style. I wish companies would stop trying to improve things that are already perfect. Forgive my brief rant. -Gene

Both of mine have it and it doesn't slow my reloads down one bit.

It actually makes it easier to stick a speedloader in, particulary Safarilands (which are far superior to HKS).

You're not the only one. Being a lefty, I release the cylinder with my trigger finger and it's much easier to do with the old style.

Actually I like it. I've had all my old style cylinder releases "melted" on the bottom for years as it helps prevent my shooting hand thumb from getting chewed up under heavy recoil.
