Hands down coolest new product shown at the NRA Convention in Pittsburgh was shown off by RAAC. It is a Turkish made 12Ga Shotgun built from ground up in an oversized AR-15 platform.

Same controls and mag release, even sights and removeable carry handle. Lots of polymer plastic in the stock and lower reciever and amazingly it only weighs 6.5 lbs! They will offer mags to feed 2 3/4 " shells and mags for 3" shells.

They are hoping to start importing this summer if BATF+E does not exclude them and they have 8,000 of them already built.
MSRP $700

But... WHY?

I just don't see it winning awards on the clays.

Oh, there is absolutely no practical purpose....it's just cool!

Makes you say "wow...look at that".

Saiga has been such a big hit on the 3 gun circuit once they have put $1500-$2000 mods in, they are hoping this thing will run in 3 gun for much less money (although salesman said it would still need some mods).

They also talked about "Practical" and "Hunting" etc but c'mon...

Back on the plus side, wife said "I like this!"...so apparently CDI factor runs high (Chicks did it!):sarcastic:

If you squint real hard you can probably see my fingerprints on the black one!

I read some of the other posts and now see ATI had it for a year trying to get it imported and couldn't get it past BATF and now RAAC picked it up. Hope it works.

gosh those things are ugly. still cool though.

what do you mean why? because! that's why!

they should have nixed the AR styling though, because they failed in that department. the flat top and m16 type mag release are good ideas. they should make it take m16 pistol grips too.

Not interested. Crusader Weaponry is developing a 12 ga, MADE IN THE USA AR shotgun called the Warhammer that is going to be a thousand times cooler than these Turkish guns.

I agree 100%. I am sort of new to this site. I have been lurking for a while but this is my first post.

And is also going to extend the import ban further to tactical imported shotguns.

It can't legally hold more than 5 unless made 922r compliant.

A gun that holds more rounds and reloads quickly is very PRACTICAL for defense.
