Closest thing we can get to a real Russian AK-103!

http://www.arsenalinc.com/usa/product.php?productid=60&cat=8&page=1

Or for those of us that missed the SLR-107.

Pretty cool.

Looks like Arsenal Inc. has pretty much figured that dealing with the Bulgarians was a loosing proposition. Hopefully the Russians will be a more reliable source.

been looking at that one. Very cool. The price is more than I am willing to pay but would love to have one.

would the price from K-VAR be a bit less?

I hope so, I'd rather have Izhmash proof marks anyway.

They were just annouced. . .

Doubt it, as they are sister companies.

AK prices have gotten out of control. It's a stamped receiver ak for Gods sake.

yeah the prices seem a little high as SLR107s were around ~700 when they first came out

Yep, and that was several years ago from an entirely different company in an entirely different country.

The gunsmithing to install an AKS-74/AK-100 series stock is substantial. Price what that costs, without the hardware, from a reputable and recognized smith.

No argument here, I have a kit build 74 on a NDS receiver and I probably have at least 100 or 200 more into it than a factory SGL31-94 costs. Part of the game I guess.

In from 2000-2007 I could buy an ounce gold coin for $500.00. Your dollar has shrunk quite a bit. If I buy another AK I am pretty sure that 5 more years from now it will probably be worth more in paper money than I will pay today.

You are right of course, the dollar has lost 20% of it's value since 2000. I just remember when I paid $250 for my intrac Maadi, and we just laughed at the quality compared to my AR's. Now I know the arsenal are the best of the AK's, I almost bought a arsenal myself but opted for a Polish RPD instead. Now that's a weapon! More money of course.

Hoping that there will be some of these made with the "CR" front end. Please. :dirol:

I really want to see a Polish RPD in person :)

As much as I want a SLR-107 or other newer AK-103 clone, I think I would much rather have a Khyber'd RPK or other BFPU looking rifle.

I really do not want a rifle that has SAIGA stamped all across the side...

Here is a good video review of the rifle. From what I have heard, the 2 main differences between the SLR-107 series and the SGL21 series is:
-SLR-107 have spring loaded firing pins, SGL21's do not.
-SLR-107 have grip reinforcement plate, SGL21s do not.

Cold hammer forged hard chrome lined. Yes, quality.

Exactly the same barrel that goes in the military rifles.

Templar, what do you think about these rifles not having the reinforcement plates at the grip. . .GTG or NG?

Not Templar, but also not concerned about a lack of a reinforcing plate on the Arsenal. If I were, I suppose I could have my E93 sling adapter spot welded to the receiver to reinforce it. But, since I'm not concerned about it, I haven't.

Nice to have, but I don't see it making any practical difference.

I might put a 100 peso bounty on a damaged receiver that didn't have the plate installed.....seeing as how 10's of millions of AK's are out in the world without it.

Honestly, I view it as a non issue.
