Has anyone ever built an SBR bolt action rifle (not the mil-surp kind) with the intent of maintaining accuracy? Any pics of such builds? I'm not a bolt-action or precision rifle kind of guy, so I don't know if this is asked often, though I'd imagine not.

I had a 14" .308 bolt gun.
accuracy was really no different than any other quality longer barreled gun.

The problem is the muzzle velocity is much lower than a typical ~24" barreled .308 and therefore range is also limited.

For bolt guns in typical calibers (.308win, .260rem, 6.5x284 etc) I think you would be wasting your time with a <16" barrel. Only my opinion

I don't disagree with you for a second that they are impractical, I guess my question was more along the lines of "Does anyone have pics or has seen such a thing?"
