I just ordered an Aimpoint PRO. I was interested if there is an economical off brand 3x magnifier that is still of decent quality?

Thanks for the link, I have been thinking of something like that but was turned off by the price of the Aimpoint version.

Are mounts universal heights? Meaning, I have an Aimpoint mounted on an A.R.M.S-17 quick detach. Will the mount provided with the Magnifier be the same height? I am thinking it will.

This seems to show promise. Near the top of my 'must purchase' list...

I'd go with a vortex, little more money but better eye relief!

Not all mounts are the same height. Some users prefer a lower optic, some a higher. Usually depends on what your cheekpiece height is and/or whether you're lucky enough to have to run infrared laser/illuminator units in front of the optic.

You probably have an ARMS #22M68 "Medium" Spacer on your ARMS mount if it looks like it is the same height as the Primary Arms mount. It is also simply unlikely that you have any other spacer. I am unfamiliar with ARMS mounts and have only even encountered them a couple of times, check the spacer and see if its model number is stated on it or measure the height of the spacer and check it against the stated heights of spacers on ARMS' site. You can then check with Primary Arms and see if they know if it will cowitness. Or just wing it and buy it. I'm fairly certain theyre both made to cowitness with irons so theyre the same height.

I am unsure if the Vortex will clear my Magpul Gen 2 BUIS.

I had the Vortex mount with the Magpul Gen 2 BUIS. It would clear the Gen2, but you had to press on the magnifier to get it past the Gen2. I wasn’t crazy about that. I wanted to just flip it to the side so I returned the Vortex mount (Vortex was kind enough to refund the cost of the mount) and I went with the LaRue Tactical QD Pivot Mount LT755-30T. I like the set-up.

Do you have a picture of your set-up?
