I'm in the market for replacement earmuffs. I'm replacing Peltor Tacticals, so I want electronics with the ability to amplify low decibel sound.

Anyone have any experience with the Radians or Howard Leight Impact units? I am done with Peltor due to cheesy battery "compartment". Voice of experience anyone?

Howard Leight Impact Sports have worked well for me for 3+ years.

Nuthin Fancy did one of his very long reviews on them if you can handle him :)

I like the Howard Leight Impacts...

I like my MSA Sordin Pro-X with Gel Cups a hell of a lot more.

I'm sure those are awesome ear protection, but I had no type of budget like than when I bought my howard leights. If mine break, it'd be hard not to buy another pair. At 5x the price of the HL's, the Sordin's would have to do significantly more to get me to buy a pair.

I REALLY like my MSA electronic muffs. They are pretty damn expensive but if you can swing the coin I would say go for it. I won mine at a competition so I like them even more.

I dont even take them off at the range during the cease fire.

Howard Leight Impact SPorts for muffs, Surefire Sonic Defenders (EP3 or EP4) for plugs.

A quick Google search landed me this marlin of a hearing pro thread:

The Surefire plugs are the way to go. No dead batteries, ever...

Stoppers out for outdoors, stoppers in indoors. Though you will get people occasionally asking you if you wear hearing aids. :sarcastic:

I use the above mentioned Surefires.
I like 'em.

My shooting buddy has a couple pairs of the Sordins.
They are real nice.
But I can't afford to shoot like I would like, let alone buy a pair for myself.
