Why does Firefox try to download a search.php file when I use the search function?

Both the most recent and previous version of Firefox are working for me on the site.

it may be a setting within your local browser set to download PHP.

Is there a setting to change in Firefox to bring back search functionality? Please share if you know one.

I've had Firefox work before consistently here for search historically, but then (I think with version 5) the M4C search button started giving me the same popup asking me to Save or Open With search.php (as shown in the screenshot 2 messages above). Clicking either option allowed the search to perform on the M4C forum in the underlying Firefox window, but still downloaded an (empty) (small) file called search.php that would open in TextEdit with no contents. Now, however, the file downloads, but the underlying Firefox window no longer actually performs the desired search.
