M4Carbine.net is proud to offer its first training class of the year! A lot of Civilian shooters do not get the opportunity to participate in scenario-based training. M4Carbine.net will address this deficiency! Now, onto the good stuff!

This is an advanced carbine class. Participants are required to have completed at least 24-40hrs of basic carbine training. There will be a lot of moving and shooting, vehicle platform shooting & night shooting! Operating in a team environment will be emphasized. Each day will build your skills toward completing a mission on the final day of training.

The training facility is located in Canton, Ohio and discounted room rates will be available at the Hilton.

Our very own KevinB will be teaching the class. Kevin has a wide ranging skill set from his many years spent in the Canadian Army to working PSD in Afghanistan.

If this wasn't a 3 day class, and a 2 day, it would be a no brainer for me.

Great looking range and I bet Kevin will put on a good class. Unfortunately, I have date conflicts as well.

I am very interested, but I don't have an SBR or a precision AR. I just have a regular 16". Will this preclude me from being able to attend the class? Not having worked around vehicles, I am particularly concerned with whether it will be possible to use such a long barrel.

In order to get everything into the class, we had to push it to three days.

You do not need an SBR or precision weapon and will remove that part. You will engage targets at various ranges and accuracy will be stressed.

Most of the vehicle shooting will be on the back of a pick up so you can shoot any weapon you like.

The range is first rate (is the range that Hackathorn used in the current issues of Combat Tactics) and Kevin is known for his technical knowledge on gear & deployed for the war on terrorism.

Would a single 3 day Carbine/Pisol Class at Blackwater be enough to qualify an individual?

ETA: Dont worry about hurting my feelings, if not, I understand completely.

Thanks, Josh

Josh,

Yes that is enough. We basicially don't want this class to be anyones FIRST Carbine class as the tempo will be fast and shooters will be expected to know all the basics.

Since Kevin is teaching, does that mean the price is in Canadian dollars? :p

I'd love to go, but dates conflict with a TriCon advanced pistol course.

Are you going to be offering a good FIRST Carbine class at those facilities anytime? I live about half hour - forty five minutes from Canton so you all need to get me trained to be able to take these courses. Then I can offer a pig roast after one :D

Yes we will (most likely with Pat Rogers).

I will have a detailed (well sorta -- got leave some surprises) course overview and a bio up of my life (as it pertains to this)
I'm trying to con a gov't agency into hiring me so I dont want too much on the net or they will recognize me for an incompetant boob ;)

Yeah. James Yeager puut on a great series of courses - with about as much realism as one can get in a civilian course. I enjoy courses with James.

course general overview
The idea is to attempt to blend a fast past course requiring and teaching some skills with the need to place precision fire instead of dumping a lot of rounds. Overseas theses days (and more importantly CONUS) you are accountable for every round you fire (certain exceptions apply OCONUS).
Team Tactics in regards to vehicles.
Engaging Moving vehicles (still working on a good tgt to demo this maybe GY will drive ;) -- kidding dude you have enough with the morons [he works where I used too...])
Shooting From Moving Vehicle into both moving vehicles and static tgts.
Downed Team Member Drills (vehicle and footborne.)
Limited Precision CQB aspects (given range constraints)

More to follow on that. but key is the Day1 Range Orientation and Safety Briefing
(I've had friends shot in Blue on Blue so I tend to error on the side of caution)
individual and team drills (AR and pistol) less teaching than an assessing side so we can see where we are as a group.
