View Full Version : Is this normal wear for a Glock?

Came back from the range the other day, field stripped my pistol and noticed the rub marks on the barrel and slide. The mark you see on the barrel had a brass color to it before I rubbed some Perma Blue on it to try and remove it. Is this normal? I only ask because I had some new sights installed and wanted to make sure the slide was not damaged during installation.

+1 on that being normal wear. My 17 looks the same.

looks good to me my 17 is like that too. I dont see how new sights would marr the barrel and underside of slide?
Its a tool its going to get used and lose finish in spots

Actually the mark I was referring to was on the side of the barrel, just below the extractor, It's highlighted in the picture above. I had a 19 prior to this one and didn't recall there being wear mark in that location.

Definitely not good. Better send it to me to dispose of.

No idea what you are talking about, and there is no extractor on the barrel to begin with, it's in the frame.

Don't sweat it.

Actually, the extractor is in the slide.
