***TRADED***

Colt Combat Commander - I'm half thinking to keep it, send it off to have Heinie's put on it, a high grip beavertail, and a complete refinish in NP3 by Robar...

But instead, my gun buddy got my into .45 Super and I dumped a bunch of money into a Stainless USP .45 and I pulled out all of the stops going on a buying spree, leaving me with a big grin on my face until my wife rumaged through the bank account; that grin quickly fled and the thought of recouping some of my $$$ via cutting the Colt loose came to mind. With all of this being said, this is one sweet shooting Colt Commander, thanks to me. I bought this one from a local forum member about 4 weeks ago and went through the gun making sure it was reliable. I detail stripped the entire gun, replaced the FPS, cleaned everything, cut down and installed a Wilson Combat extended length-ringed stainless guide plug , installed 4 new Wilson Combat grip bushings with red locktight, installed VZ Carbon 320 full size grips with stainless Wilson Combat hex screws with green locktight, cut down and installed a Wilson Combat bullet proof guide rod and flat wire spring kit, tuned the spring to the correct length to shoot +P 230 grain without battering the gun (yet still function on range ammo), tuned the extractor for ideal ejection, fitted a Wilson Combat Commander stainless bushing, throated & polished the barrel and frame to create a seamless ramp (it feeds empties now :)), painted the back of the tiny factory front sight post orange, added grip tape to the front strap, and bought 3 Chip McCormick 8 round powermags and put 300 rounds through the gun to verify it works well. Brought it home and cleaned it and then the .45 super obsession hit...

So I'm into the gun $600 + about $80 bucks for the Wilson Combat parts + $90 bucks for the mags, $100 bucks for the grips - and my 18 hrs of labor... how about $30 and I'll forget about the range time and ammo to test and tune everything. $800 FTF ($100 discount) for a sweet Colt 4.25" reliable 1911 pistol. It's not a show piece, the prior owners that had it over 33 years did wear down some of the factory nickel finish and polished some of it away, but refinsih the gun and you will want to show it to all of your friends. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't look horrid, but you can tell upon close inspection the finish is a little worn. Sale also includes original guide rod, spring, barrel bushing, Colt medallion grips, colt grip bushings and screws, a Pachmayr 7 round mag with rubber base plate, and the 3 McCormick mags. Willing to meet @ SSGC if anyone wants to give it a run before purchasing. As always, GADL + GWL for FTF transaction or will ship to your FFL for $20. Also willing to keep the McCormick mags and knock off $80 if you want to feed it your own flavor... One final purchase option - I can return the pistol to the original configuration (keeping the Wilson Combat grip bushings on the gun of course) and I will let it go for what I paid for it, $600 with the Pachmayr mag.
