Currently i have a a BCM 16" mid length riding on a dpms lower receiver. I have replaced the receiver extension with a milspec one from bravo company and properly staked the castle nut. The question i have is; is it worth selling my dpms lower to a buddy and replace it with a BCM lower? Or is this not neccessary?

I would. There's more to the lower than just a mil spec receiver extension, for example a quality FCG.

If you have a buyer on the DPMS go for it. Otherwise, I'd just make sure the lower parts are good quality.

thanks for the responses guys, just out of curiosity what other than a properly staked mil spec extension tube, H buffer and good fcg would i need to upgrade on the DPMS to make it better?

Nothing, the DPMS is forged 7075/t6 aluminum just like BCM, Colt etc.. As long as it's in spec (magazines drop out, everything lines up) your good.

I'm not so sure. There is just something about a BCM upper on a BCM lower...
