Places to shoot around Reno

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good place to shoot in the Reno area.

There are a lot, and in all directions. Derby Dam is the popular place that comes to mind, east of town on I-80. You can go north to Cold Springs and get to BLM land there, or west of Spanish Springs towards Hungry Valley. Parts of Peavine used to be accessible from Golden Valley, but I haven't been up there in 6 or more years. If you have California legal guns that you want to shoot, Dog Valley is close, to the west.
