I ordered my self a 308 POF 14" barrel last month. I've got about two months to figure out what to top it off with. Looking for a red dot or holographic sight. What do you recommend?

What are you going to use the rifle for? Everything depends on what you want to do with it. Keep that in mind and use the search button up top.

There are so many options and opinions out there, gotta find one that works best for you.

Fourteen inch .308? Why? I am thinking about a .308, but it will be for long range precision. Fourteen inch is CQB.

You loose velocity not accuracy with a shorter barrel, though this tends to be less of an issue with 7.62/.308 than with 5.56.

In fact the shorter, stiffer barrel of the 14.5" may aide in accuracy.

My choice for CQB also wouldn't be a .308 or a 14.5 barrel, but since the OP didn't ask about our preferences in CQB weapons or magnified optics for long range/precision shooting I digress and stand by my previous recommendation of the Aimpoint model of your choice.

To expound a bit on my Aimpoint suggestion, you'd be hard pressed to beat them for ruggedness, battery life, etc. My personal preference is for the H-1(I don't have NV) and an ADM high mount for a lower 1/3 co-witness, or a M3 in it's respective high ADM mount.
