View Full Version : Lead outside of meplat - OTM ammo

I'm relatively new to shooting and have a question about some Hornady TAP ammo that I have. On some of the rounds, it almost looks like some lead spilled out the tip of the bullets and solidified. Intuitively, I'm fairly sure this isn't anything to be concerned about especially since it's such a small amount. However, since I'm new I just wanted to check here to make sure my hunch is correct. Here is an image I took:

That does look odd, but I would shoot it in a NY minute and not worry about it.

Oddities at the front of a bullet aren't nearly as detrimental to accuracy as any imperfection at the rear. Shoot with confidence (but you might drop a line to the manufacturer just for good measure.)
