View Full Version : deal on stripped lowers
Happened into Palmetto State Armory today in Columbia, SC and discovered their standard stripped lowers on sale for $49.99. To good to pass up so I left with four of them. In case anyone wants to know.
That is an awesome price.
Do polymer mags drop free??
Please advise? That is too good to pass up if PMAGS work and everything else looks good.
They're a site sponsor. You might get an answer from them if you pm them or even better post in their thread.
Guys I can't attest to a built lower; however, a 20rd pmag drops free from a stripped lower without any problems. I will post back about true drop free status if I can get one built (time permitting) later this weekend. It is an outstanding value. I went in expecting $79.99 and discovered $49.99. What is one to do but put a few back for the younger family members. I couldn't resist.
Saw this statement on their web site, and don't recall hearing of this before. Is this something everyone is doing?
"Due to Federal law, if you order an AR15 lower and AR15 parts, we will have to add an additional 11% Federal Excise Tax to the purchase price of the AR15 lower and AR15 parts. This amount will not be reflected in your shopping cart or on your invoice, but will be added when your order is processed."
Here is a link to them here on m4c.

Just checked their web site still has them at $79. Are they blems? $50 is a great price.
No they are not blems. I picked up four sequential serial numbers. I had other AR parts as well and was not aware of the excise tax. I will just say their customer service was excellent and happily made two purchases if you catch my drift. I don't know about the web price vs the purchase price. I would assume the website has not been updated because I did not hear about an in-store only deal. Just give them a call and ask about the price.
Maybe you were the 1 millionth Customer or something. :sarcastic:
And I thought the $65 I paid online a few months ago was a good price. Good score!!!

Yes...PMags drop free as well as GI aluminum mags. I finally got one put together tonight and could not be happier. Everything dropped right in without any "hiccups" and works like butter. Complete BCM 14.5" LW upper with this lower receiver stocked with a Vltor IMod collapsible stock. It will be my new patrol rifle day in and day out. Just need to get to the range and run some rounds.
Checked with Palmetto and they will have the lower price for their lower receivers updated on their website in a few days. They are not taking phone orders. The Federal excise tax does not apply if you are only buying the lower.
I just called on these and was told that right now it is storefront only at that price. I did get the impression that If I called the storefront they would still sell me one at that price. As of 6/3 they were advertising them on AR-15.com for $79.95 with free shipping.
That is in in-store price only--no phone or web orders.

The storefront and website is one and the same I believe...I've been in there and spent some $$$$

Just a heads up, over on the other site in their industry forum, Palmetto said that they are going to try to out these on their website at the $50 price tag about the third week of June.
They will sell a bunch if that is shipped or the shipping isn't too high.
I see they still have PSA uppers for $399. Looks to be possible to build a basic M4 style carbine less mag and rear sight for just over $550

I will have to watch for this thanks
Are the PSA uppers decent quality?

Recently they had their 14.5 uppers for 400 complete with BCG and I purchased one. Just took it to the range the other day and it worked flawlessly. Only put 100 rounds through it but it shot everything I threw in it, some federal xm193 and some handloads. The upper looks great, m4 ramps, everything seemed to be in spec and it comes with a hp/mp BCG, full auto carrier. I bought mine with the moe handguard but had an 11" samson rail to go on another gun but decided to put it on this one and it fit great. Heres just some pics of the gun.

Edited to add: Yes I know I do not have a front sight on there yet, mbus is coming tomorrow

They seem to work just as well as any other lower, I believe the pictogram lowers are made by aero, mine have a ceraforge mark on them.
I have three built and no problems with empty (new) pmags or mil style mag's dropping
I'll be keeping an eye out for this as well. I just bought a few of the $59 SA&A lowers from AIM, but for $50 for a PSA pictogram lower (potentially made by Aero Precision), I'd just have to get 2 or 3 more.
