Ok guys I bought the REM 700 AAC-SD rifle and I purchased a Leupold 4x12x50 scope (VX2). What type of base and rings do I need to order. Would the badger 20mm base work with this combo??? If so, do I need low medium or high rings???? I want it as low as possible but still have room for the 50mm bell. Thanks so much guys...

I just put a Warne steel base and TPS low rings on my 700. And those low rings still have the centerline of the 30mm scope 1-7/8" over the centerline of the bore.

Not sure about that monster objective lense, but I could try to get a pic up later.

Here is a guide to calculating ring height from Snipers Hide:

And another useful link for searches that should help. There is a wealth of related info there:

I am far from an expert in this area, but I recently mounted my Nightforce 3.5-15x56 on an AAC-SD. I used a NF 20 moa base and NF low rings. Even with the 56mm objective it fit fine, and left enough room for the bikini cover and/or butler creek covers. YMMV.
