I believe that the sling loop is secured with a C-type clip and can be removed. I'll look at mine later.

I have the scattergun LH loop +2 mag extension on my 870.
A co-worker does not want a sling loop on his mag extension, and he is anti-dremel.
Looks like he will just have to suck it up.

I have two, one Wilson and one Vang Comp, the Wilson is welded and the VC is secured with a C clip.

Between work and personal, I have seen or worked on a couple hundred of the WC/SGT extensions and IG is correct. Most of them have been 1 round extensions, but I personally had a 2 round and a few of the work guns had 2 round extensions. IIRC, they were the same as the 1 round extensions. The sling mount is secured by a c clip and then a metal o ring that is pressed on. I took one apart last week because it wouldn't fit and I wanted to see if changing out the sling mount would make it work. If it matters to you, or in this case your buddy, removing the metal o ring scratched up the extension so the "fit and finish" was now all scratched up. I personally don't care, but it may matter to him.
