I have a Hahn Precision, Forward Light Mount for the AR-15/M-16 line of rifles.
This mount attaches on the barrel in front of the front sight and allows the mounting of weapon lights from Insight / Stream light / Surefire. Design self compensates for variations in barrel diameter. Extremely lightweight and clears bayonet. Docking areas on side allow for additional rails to be mounted if necessary.
