Well, my 9mm PPS now has an identical bigger brother. My .40 S&W PPS just got back from Robar, so both pistols now look identical, having Robar's latest NP3 Plus finish on the exterior, as well as internally.

I really don't see any need to carry anything else other than one of these two handguns. I honestly think that I am done buying handguns at this point. I don't think that I will ever be able to top the Walther PPS. I am now in PPS heaven. Here are both guns, each with a 6 round magazine installed:

NP3 Plus is perhaps the most corrosion resistant finish on the market today. In addition, the PTFE Teflon that is part of the coating gives the finish a self-lubricating ability that increases firearm reliability. The finish is applied not only externally, but also to all internal metal parts, including those inside the frame.

Here is the result of some corrosion testing done on NP3 Plus, compared to other popular handgun finishes:

Argh...axes not labeled on graph...nerd brain exploding...

Beautiful firearms. I have a standard NP3 coated P7 and it's a great finish.

Edit: labeling axes not necessary per legend, my nerd brain failed.

My nerd brain can clearly see that the x-axis is an ordinal representation of vaious coatings and the y-axis is hours based upon the legend. Since this isn't a graph presented at a podium presentation, abstract or manuscript, I don't see a pressing need for labels in this case.

Great...next time I plan on exposing one of my pieces to 1,000 hours of salt spray bath, I'll make sure I get it NP3 Plus coated first...

lol... :sarcastic:

What was wrong with your 9mm PPS?

Nothing. The .40 S&W PPS was not yet available when I got it. It came out a couple of months later.

Probably a dumb question, and I am not too familiar with anything Walther....why are your Walther guns marked "Smith & Wesson" on the slides????

In 1999, Smith & Wesson and Walther announced a joint plan to distribute Walther branded firearms and accessories in the United States.

Great looking pistols! I love NP3. Maybe I should dig something up in the safe and send it out....perhaps my P99!

Loupav:

ROBAR just announced a brand new finish this month, that is supposed to offer all of the benefits of NP3 Plus, plus also increased abrasion protection, and it is available in different colors too.

The new finish is called Poly-T2. Here is a link to the ROBAR webpage all about it:

http://www.robarguns.com/poly_t2.html

Poly-T2 should be a great option for folks that don't want to make their pistol two tone, but still want to get all of the advantages of NP3 Plus.

Just looked over a PPS today for the first time.Never been a pocket pistol fan but these seem to be a little more than that. I liked the trigger since it's Glock-like and we are exclusively Glock 9mm for carry.
I like this gun,but they only had one in forty today. Probably time for me to get a skinny "walk down the beach" gun. The thinness is a seller for me provided it proves reliable.A nine is on order.
