I am still trying to wrap my mind around the fact he has the optic mounted on the carry handle.

Go check out the pictures, sorry I am not ripping the website for pictures.

And that barrel looks very short, less then 10 inches?

They are some serious trigger pullers there. I bet they get into it everyday. With regards to the carry handle they have to fight with what they have.

Not an ideal set up but functional nonetheless. I've gone into some of the Favelas of Rio and its the real deal in there! Typical gangbangers from the U.S. wouldn't last 24hrs there.

Props to the brutha reading the National Enquirer, like cops with carbines comin' down the alleyway is no big deal! :jester:

It really isnt a big deal....fairly common actually. My first trip down there we were caught in the middle of a fire fight between the cops and the gangs. We kept our heads down till it was over. Once over, life resumed as if nothing had happened.

IIRC, Brasilian(this is the correct spelling:p) cops and military are the real deal. These are not the Mexicans.

Did you guys notice 4th pic down of the guy wearing what looks to be baseball catcher's shin guards? These guys really do make use of what they have...

I am of Cuban decent, and have heard plenty of stories of milk cartons for baseball gloves and palm branches for bats so I'm not totally surprised...we are a lucky bunch to be born/live here!

Despite the "reporters" claim, I didn't see a single TANK in the photos.

Nice to know British journalists are as accurate about their reporting as the clowns here in the states.

Regarding the police squads, they most certainly are nowhere near as well funded or equipped as here in the US. It ain't easy in 2nd and 3rd world nations and there is some serious sh*t going down in the favelas and the police have little control in them most of the time.

Has anyone here seen "Elite Squad" Kind of shows what they are up against.

They don't know the differance between an AAV or a MBT. :D

NGC has a series called "Shadow Soldiers" that is hosted by Chris Ryan who is former SAS. In one episode Mr. Ryan embedded with BOPE as they raided a favela.

Me too.......and I agree with you. Those guys have no problem slinging lead regardless to who is standing in the way. I watched them fly a helicoptor in and have a door gunner suppress fire in one of the favelas. several of them posted up right next to our van to return fire.....we counted 3 holes in the van when it was over. Luckily nobody in our group was hit.

Why not? We did it for decades, including US special forces.

If you are used to it you are used to it. I'm so used to it I can't use optics on a flat top without a riser.

Conversely, if you aren't used to it, then you prefer the setup you are familiar with.

Was a decent sreies. Those Poles were no joke.

And who the **** pick Rio for the Olympics, do they have their head in the sand? Why no just go all the way and host them in Mexico.

That was one show they got right. I recorded the entire series on my DVR. With his credentials, Mr. Ryan obtained unprecedented access to some of the world’s most elite units. Most of the host units allowed him full kit and arms while “assisting” with operations.

Just this week Mexico hosted a FIFA tournament. Same day 22 people were murdered across the country.

I can think of plenty of good reasons to have the Olympics in Rio.

Mind you, all the reasons would revolve around big booty'ed Brazilian chicks, booze and stuff I couldn't tell my parents...

That's what I was thinking. I was sure Africa and parts of Asia would have them beat.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_HIV/AIDS_adult_prevalence_rate

The table makes clear Africa's unfortunate position in the worldwide HIV and AIDS epidemic, as the 19 countries worldwide with the highest prevalence of reported infections are all African countries with more than 24.5 million, and more than 60% of the HIV-infected population. South Africa is reported to have the largest population living with the disease, at well over 5 million people infected, followed by Nigeria in 2nd place and India being the 3rd largest population of HIV infected with more than 2 million people reported.

http://www.photius.com/rankings/population/hiv_aids_adult_prevalence_rate_2011_0.html

Brazil comes in at 41 on this list.

I doubt it. I'd wager not even close considering Brazil is a nation of 191,000,000, Rio metro has a population of 14,000,000 and the total AIDS cases of the nation as of 2008 is 600,000.

Even if every single AIDS case was in Rio it wouldn't come close to Lobamba, Gaborone, Maseru and cities in South Africa where as many as 40-50% of the females have AIDS, and overall cases being in the 20-30% range.

Pretty slick. In the NGC show they encountered a home made concrete barrier reinforced with rebar so as to prevent them from utilizing their AAVs and APCs for cover. The BGs made some poor SOB build the thing over night (the cement was still wet) with a gun to his head.

Lots of cross dressing in that city.

I totally almost made out with a dude in Japan once, when me and my girlfriend were trying to find a candidate for a threesome.

We thought we found some hott Brazilian tourist. Nope. It was a dude.

Not the only reason I'm never going back to Japan.

On topic a little more, I did like the show mentioned earlier, and I've heard that Brazilian cops were pretty hardcore.
