I bought a DD omegaX rail off Midway the FSP 12" variety decided to change my mind and go with a low pro gas block and the 9" rail w/ troy BUIS

well got it today and it has a different barrel nut then the previous one?

I don't see how it will work with the lite barrel wrench tool

here is the lite barrel nut

edit: my rail also has two tangs/extensions on the top piece the other rail did not have these and pictures I have found don't show them either.

called DD up and they explained they recently (less then 2 months) switched to a new genII barrel nut for a rare problem of the rail not lining up with the receiver, this new nut needs a different wrench. Even though I didn't buy directly from them they are sending me the new wrench free of charge! can't beat that customer service.

thanks Daniel Defense:D

Glad that worked out for you.

Interesting there is a new barrel nut. What problem is it fixing on some rifles? I had an OmegaX that would not line up properly with a Noveske upper/lower a while back. I wonder if this would have fixed that.

The person I talked to explained there is a rare problem, which you seem to have suffered from with your Noveske; where they will not line up this is suppose to remedy that.

Interesting design....I'd like to see how that wrench looks. Seems like it would be difficult to get 180 degrees of contact with that design. Maybe it works like the older castle nuts.

I'll post up a picture when I get it.

Good on DD to send you the barrel nut wrench. I've always received great customer service from them.

Those "tangs" at the back of the rail look like anti-rotation tabs, nice touch by DD.

I heard DD was making some updates to the Lite rail as well; I wonder if we'll see a new Lite rail soon to go along with the updated Omega X.
