So I found this aimpoint on craigslist and I am considering buying it. I am a optic noob and I need some help. The seller is asking $250, but I am hoping to get it for less.

2 questions:

1. Is this a real aimpoint?

2. How much is it worth?

I would have to see it in person. I don't even see the standard Aimpoint laser engravings or typical Aimpoint lettering on it. The pictures are too grainy. Look up Aimpoint clones and then go see it in person before you make a decision to buy it or not.

Looks like a Comp M (which had issues) and a QRP GEN 1 mount.

I would pass on it for that price.

I wouldnt even chance it. Save the $250 you have and put it towards a new T-1 Or M2 or whatever you want. That would be a foolish mistake if it was a fake

There are many fakes out there, be careful not buying from reputable dealer. Its airsoft bullshit. Looks just like the real deal, IS NOT.

Thanks guys, Ive been researching fake aimpoints. The seller is going to send me some pictures of the label/serial number, sight adjustments, and battery compartment. After receiving these, I'll decided if I want to drive down and take a look at it.

As has been said by Grant, for that price, its still a no go. Get an older version aimpoint for close to that price. Brand new

hmmm okay, what would be a reasonable price for this one?

Assuming that it did NOT have the fogging issues that Comp M's have and failure to return to zero, I would offer $100-$150.

For me, I would take that money and buy a Comp C3 ($365) or a PRO ($400).

The PRO is hard to beat (if you like the QRP 2 mount).

We also just got some in stock though.
