View Full Version : Herter's Steel-cased Ammo in a Glock?
I know there are heated debates over steel-cased ammo, but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Herter's brand, specifically their .45ACP rounds. I found it cheaper than anything else, and I need a bunch for an upcoming class.
Input/advice is appreciated. Thanks!
Should be fine. Buy a few boxes and try it out.
ive used it thru my G17 and havent had any issues, but I also clean my firearms after each use

I keep mine clean and lubed so I won't have to worry as much about it being dirty.

You need to exercise some caution.
I've run 250 rounds of it through my Glock 21. About 230 rounds in, I had a "squib." I've read several places that this could happen. Worried I might have a bullet left in the barrel that could cause a KB, I field stripped it right there on the range and looked down the barrel to make sure it was clear.
If you fire a round that doesn't "feel right," stop what you're doing and visually verify (after disassembly, of course) that you didn't leave one in the barrel.
