Hmmm, wonder if that means my 1* will be worth more on the used market soon....

How did they arrive at their new name?

I thought you said your 1* was a POS. Thats what I interpreted.

Then I'd say your interpretation skills need work. ;)

And even if I didn't like it, isn't it better for me if the market changes such that it's now worth more? If you have a thing that you want to get rid of, and all of a sudden something happens that means you can sell it for more than you paid, isn't that a good thing? :p

That depends on if it's me who wants to buy it.

Seems like a step in the right direction IMHO - *everything* coming out of the shop will see the attention of Ted and Steve...

and Jason.

He did the 1* work on my Series 70 repro. I've since sent it back a month or so ago and had them replace the Heine rear sight with a Yobo, and had them put the silver etched 1* logo on the right hand side, which I did not get with the initial package, and later changed my mind. Good timing it turns out.

Thanks for the interest guys... this “transition” is something Ted, Steve, and I have been looking forward to for some time. :)

How did they arrive at their new name?

The name... it comes from the idea of heirloom quality guns (something that can be handed down to future generations) built to precision tolerances. It’s a name that Ted has had in the back of his head for a few years now but even we realize that in reality most people come to us because of the builds we do, not the company name. Like the guy said, ’what’s in a name’... ;)

Just as a point of clarity the vast majority of the guns from Heirloom Precision will be done by Ted and I. Certainly not to take anything away from my ‘brother’ Steve but his daily work as an LEO only affords him a small window of time in the shop. While he is still active in building as his time allows, the daily “duties”, builds, and "attention" at the shop will be done by Ted and I.

As always if there are any questions about the new company, lead times, work, etc. or the transition you all are free to email, PM me, or of course post here and I’d be happy to answer any questions I can, thanks! :)

I'm not Jason :p but I read what Ted posted on LTW, he basically said the sights will be gone once they're sold out. I need to get a couple just in case.

Well it sounds like things will be just fine, but a single tear rolls down my cheek for the death of the 1* pistols...I haven't ever owned or even handled one, but I spent many an hour drooling over them.

Best of luck.
