Bummer.

Anyway, I just thought I'd mention this as I've always been a bit of an aviation nut- even dabbled in flying a bit back when I was 16.
I think WW2 was kind of a sweet spot for aircraft design- they really turned out some gorgeous planes back in those days. Just a shame to lose another one.

Every once in a while, activists try to stop people from restoring and flying old warbirds. But I tell you what; there are a metric shit-ton of warbirds flying today that would be ground up to scrap or rotting to nothing if people were not allowed to restore and FLY them.

We are blessed to have people so motivated to see them fly and it's worth the risk.

I got my love of WWII war birds from my grandfather who served in the Army Air Corps in the European theater.
