I've been looking for in stock 14.5" light midlengths and came across this.

Looks pretty good to me. What do ya'll think?

Looks good. Are you getting a true 14.5" or a permed 14.5"?

Samuse,
Noveske makes good stuff. Buy with confidence. It just needs a quality sling, ammo, dedicated operator and optic.

Very light weight, and a nice overall feel and balance to it.

Permed.

I'm just looking to pick up a 2nd AR to use in Iron Sights division at local matches.

I'm thinking a regular carry handle rear sight on there and be done with it.

That Thunder Ranch is super sexy but it's an extra $700+

How is that Magpul hand guard? It looks funky but are they pretty solid?

I have a DD setup similar to that moe model and love the balance of it, the moe handguard feels solid imo.

I'm thinking a regular carry handle rear sight on there and be done with it.Or a fixed DD or LMT rear. That way you can always add and remove a RDS at a whim. Sell the MOE.

They're GTG, and a good piece of kit.

Stick,

Are you going to or can you get just this upper? I'd love to pick one up for my wife.

If it's a real 14.5, go for it. The MOE handguards are very solid and nice upgrade over the stock ones.

If you are thinking permed 14.5, I'd go with a mid 16". I am not a fan of perm devices period.
Just the ability to easily change/try other devices... Like you said you mill be using this in competition, you might want to try out a muzzle brake or comp... plus, being able to clean the crown/etc is big if you shoot a lot.

YMMV

That is the same rife I have except I don't have the lightweight profile. It's great. I have not had a single issue with it, and the MOE hand guard is nice and solid, no movement or rattling. I have just about 3000 rounds through it with no problems.

I believe Noveske makes a great rifle. Mine has been 100% reliable and it is accurate. I switched from a Troy rear sight to the DD.... less moving parts, and "fixed" makes sense to me. Good luck with your choice.

Really great seeing Noveske release these lightweight barrels. Here's a vote to see a VTAC skinny.

Anyone know if the MUR as configured on the TR Is lighter or heavier than the standard flattop on the LW MOE? I have weight pictures for my reference but the HD is packed up.

Noveske has told me in the past that the MUR is on par with the weight of their standard upper receiver, he did not give me any figures but stated the difference was too minimal to bother with. I had recently inquired about the same thing.

Hmm..this might just be the ticket. Wonder if they can put on a battlecomp? Then maybe add a C4 rail, RDS and voila, new patrol rifle.

I would go with one if I didn't already have a LW 16 midlength. Looks good though.

The MUR without forward assist is the same weight as an M4 with forward assist.

Noveske is an excellent choice and that configuration is a great KISS rifle.

Since these havnt been out for long, anyone have an idea of the accuracy difference between the skinny and regular profile CHF barrels? Some pencils turn out to be 3-4 MOA barrels which I rather have an extra few ounces if thats the case.
