Hey guys just bought a forth simply rugged holster and thought Id post a couple pics and thoughts. First I got a CUDA for my Colt Commander and deployed with it to Afghanistan, it was awesome. It was so tough in fact that It stopped alot of frag from going into my right flank when my point man stepped on an IED. They have super tough and beautiful leather. Anyways I came home and got another CUDA for my glock 23, which I love. I normally carry a crossbreed (another great holster) but have had it break on me twice. The kydex cracks in the front. They have always been happy to replace it for me at no cost, well repair actually. But its not exactly an end of the world holster, so Ive been going with Simply Rugged lately.

Anyway Simply Rugged made this one out of SharkSkin and I got it with the IWB straps, which I use daily. I went ahead and got a pocket holster for my little Ruger LCR. Have only used it a few dozen times buts its super practical. A few minutes ago I bought a Silver Dollar Pancake for my LCR, cant wait for that to come in. Here are the pics, hope this helps guys out there looking for a quality holster.

Oh heres a link to the website I bought it at if you gouys want to look, price was very reasonable for the standard leather. http://www.simplyrugged.com/store/ Dont really know how much the Shark Skin was it was a gift. but 75 bucks for this quality leather and stiching was great. I make gear myself and really appreciate this kinds of stiching, dont often see this.

How long was the wait time?

On the shark skin I think it was about three or four weeks. On the standard 1911 and matching mag pouch they had it to me in less than two weeks. I know they keep some standard stuff and a couple goodies on hand, but alot of it is all custom orders. I just looked at there website, there gear to go s the stuff already on hand for the most part. On the G23 holster i cant really remember but again I think around two weeks or so.

My simply rugged pocket holster has not given me any issues and seems well made, but I personally prefer the Mika overall.

Cuda looks to be a nice and versatile holster with inside and outside waistband functionality. May pick up one for an M&P.

I picked up a Sourdough Pancake for my Ruger Blackhawk last summer. It's a nice chunk of leather and, as previously noted, very well constructed.

Yeah I just ordered my silverdollar sourdough, got it in sharkskin. Cant wait to get my LCR into it, how do like it? i kinda looks like the revolver version of the CUDA.

I have a Sourdough Pancake for a 3" GP100. My only complaint is that the holster collapses too much after the draw, especially when using the inside-out straps.

I havnt had that problem with my cuda, have a sourdough enroute here soon. But hope not to have to much of an issued with that. My crossbreed never has the issue as its obviously kydex as well as a safariland IWB but there nothing close to the level of comfort leather provides. I do know what you mean though, having had that issue with a galco. But i just put the tip of the barrel in first and then its right in no issues. I dont mind a little more time on the re holster though, as long as it comes out quick!
