I just got my 9mm upper and i dont have anything here saying whether there is or isn't a recommended brand ammo to use for this firearm. Sig customer service isn't around until wednesday. please confirm the manufacturers recommendation

Have you checked your manual or the manufacturer's website for their recommendations ? Could be a good starting place.
I'd suggest using some fairly decent brass cased range ammo, like American Eagle, Fiocchi, WWB, et. al. and avoid steel cased stuff.

Yea for some strange reason I didnt get a manual for the upper. I'm gonna call Wednesday to get one, I'll check the site again, I didn't see anything. Thanks for the suggestions
What "upper" are you talking about?

He's probably talking about the 9mm caliber conversion (slide/bbl/mag) set that you can buy for $300 if you buy a .22 P226.

yes this upper. CCI mini mags are what sig recommends for the 22 lr. im just tryin to find out if there is a manufacturers recommendation for 9mm. I checked the online manual and haven't found anything. plus i checked their site again and still have not found anything
They're going to tell you not to shoot reloads, as is any manufacturer.
Stick to quality, known manufacturers and you'll be fine.

I shoot any any everything in my 226s. no problems at all despite all the nonsense you hear people say about Sigs.

Got it thanks
my P226 shoots GoldDot 124+P really accurately. it also happens to shoot really well in my M&P's.
it is also among the top rated self-defense rounds according to Doc GKR. that's good enough for me...
I don't believe Sig recommends any one particular brand of ammo for their center fire guns. I would guess they do so w/ their .22 LR conversions as in my experience they tend to be a bit more finicky and .22LR ammo is generally manufactured to a lesser standard than center fire ammo. Get some inexpensive brass cased bang and have at it.
if it won't eat wolf i'd sell it :o
