I got an M&P9 fullsize last week to use as my new carry weapon. I ordered an RCH Phantom but was quoted an 18 week wait. The Kaluban Cloak guys are about 3 months out, themselves. I like the Secret City kydex models, but I don't see them on their site anymore, just leather rigs.

I like that style of holster, and have an RCH for my 1911s, so I am looking for something similar that I can get in a relatively short timeframe.

Any suggestions?

Secret City never has put the kydex rigs on his website - prolly too busy cranking them out to update the site.

Check out Cane & Derby.

Gear Scout did a profile on them recently.

Ntac is pretty good. If I still had my M&P I would still be using his holster. At the time I ordered he didn't have an M&P .45 but he tracked one down from a friend to use for my order. I was pretty impressed.

I am probably going to order another for my glock, I am debating whether or not I want to order a light bearing holster.

You can try this guy on Glocktalk. He made one for me while my RCS is down and it is a great alternative in about a one week wait.

Check out Hideous holsters he's on ebay and you can find his stuff if you search for kydex holsters or raven. I have 2 RCS holsters and they can't be matched but I also have 3 and another on the way from Hideous and they are great. He's fast usually around 1-2 weeks and he actually has a couple already made on ebay. They work great and are half the price if not less. Best of all hardware is compatible.

I've dealt with Alabama Holster Company twice now, as they are usually about 30 days or so out.

The build quality and retention is very good. The only downside when compared to the RCS-style holsters you were looking at is that their holster models are dedicated either IWB or OWB...I don't think they allow for switching attachment methods, so you'll either need to choose one, or buy two.

Thanks for the replies. I just ordered a Hideous holster from the ebay guy. He includes a mag pouch, as well. Looks like good stuff.

I apologize to the two gentlemen that IM'd me about the holsters they make, I wasn't logged in when I read this thread and didn't see you had contacted me. I will, however pass your info on to a friend of mine who is looking for a holster as well.

I like and use kydex holsters from Kolbeson Leatherworks (www.shopleatherworks.com). I believe their current delivery time is 5 weeks.

For IWB I've been using a Bladetech Nano for almost a year now. I have one for my G19 and M&P9. I really like it, it's very thin, durable, and no waiting to get one. It's well made but won't break the bank. I still use my RCS for IWB but the Bladetech is much more comforatble IWB.

I've had good experience with the Bladetech IWB also.

Comp-Tac delivers quickly and they offer a couple IWB models that have the widely spaced belt attachments, fore and aft.

Secret City and Personal Security both have short wait times compared to RCS and the like.

I ordered a holster for my P30 from Crown Holsters on July 3rd and got notice yesterday the 8th that it has shipped. There is favorable feedback on HKPro regarding this maker.

I don't know their current backlog, but Personal Security Holsters made me a fantastic kydex holster a few months ago. Their prices are pretty good as well.

Edit: It looks like Personal Security has a 70 day lead time currently. I guess they've gotten more popular in the past few months.

Glad you found one. FWI, I can typically have a holster out to you within 7-10 days if you need anything else. Be careful with holsters made of .06 Kydex as some brands will lose shape if left in a hot car or crack easily with use.

My Holsters can be used IWB and OWB

I met the guy from Rule of Concealment holsters at the Silencer Shoot. They had some very nice kydex holsters, including light compatible models. I think their turnaround time is a couple weeks.
