I'm curious to see if this improves wait times or makes them longer.

The attachment for the examiner is pretty small. Try to resize it

Its interesting to put a name to the person reviewing your paperwork, rather than it being some ambiguous "other".

Sounds like my guy is in the middle of the pack. I'm guessing their average times have more to do with volume and sick days than much anything else.

Does anyone other than me feel a bit nerdy knowing the names of government bureau employees as if they were players on a pro sports team?

With the increase in applicants using Trusts, maybe these examiners are well versed in their respective States' trust law.

Great, I get the guy with the most states, Shipman has 9 more than any other examiner. He should be clogged for decades....

Santamaria - 39 Days from Pending till Approved.................LMAO

I have been pending a Form 1 since May 25th and she is the examiner.

Guess she decided to change her time line and make it longer.

What?

Date sent to stamps received is the total time. Pending to approved is a chuck of that. You wouldn't add the two numbers. Can you please clarify?

IA and HI not free states when it comes to NFA. MN doesn't allow silencers which are the most transferred NFA weapon.

The other states are mid to low population states.

The assignment by state was figured by taking the total transfer by each state and dividing them up equally so each examiner has roughly the same number of transfers to process, but could have more or less states, depending on population and if the state is NFA friendly.

MO are not free states when it comes to NFA.

Please explain? MO is plenty NFA friendly, actually just had a law change making it EASIER to possess NFA items. Prior to it you had to have an FFL(C&R sufficed), now you no longer need the FFL.

I wasn't aware of that. I see this law takes into effect on 8/28/2011

yup, made some other good changes to our CCW law as well.

I wouldnt have said MO was anti-NFA prior to this law change since getting a $30 FFL wasnt a big deal(mine paid for itself with the Brownells discount on my first order).

I just wish more MO sheriff's would sign form's since prior to this law change you had to have a Corp., because trusts couldnt hold an FFL. Now that is not the case and people can use trust's in MO.

The ATF National Firearms Act (NFA) Branch is pleased to announce that as of July 2011, ATF Forms 1, 2, 10 and ATF Form 5320.20 will be assigned to a legal instruments examiner for processing according to the State of the applicant's address. The NFA Branch also will begin assigning ATF Forms 3, ATF Form 4 and 9 applications to examiners by the State of the transferor's address. Applications already pending at the time of the change will continue to be processed by the examiner to whom they were previously assigned. Historically, applications in the NFA Branch have been assigned to legal instruments examiners alphabetically based on the name of the transferor or applicant. A chart showing the new assignment distribution is below.
The ATF expects this change in the assignment of applications to better enable NFA examiners to develop State law expertise and more knowledgeably and effectively respond to our customers during an era of unprecedented and ever increasing application volume. Please contact the NFA Branch at 304-616-4500 with any questions about this change.

Was that supposed to be some kind of sick joke, I have friends who are still pending from May/June 2011

One would think that $200 would buy a simple processing of paperwork & background checks with a little efficiency.

This list can't be right or either it's changed. Jason Frushour was my examiner and I'm in MS.
