How does the 9mm Gold Dot 115 gr +P+ compare to the 124 gr +P Gold Dot, and the 124 gr +P HST?

First post here, but I am going to guess that it's not exactly recommended due to underpenetration because of it's light weight. On top of that, the muzzle blast and recoil are probably quite harsh, judging from my experiences with shooting Winchester Ranger 115 gr +P+

You will not find the Gold Dot 115 gr +P+ on Doc's recommended list. I'm sure he has good reason for it's omission.

There are already threads about this, but from personal experience I can tell you that the muzzle blast and recoil are way too violent for the amount of down range performance (or lack thereof) you get with these. They feel like shooting .357 mag, can't be too good on the gun either.

I've shot a few boxes of this ammo. Not that bad actually.

I kept some around awhile just because it shot accurately and reliably in my G34, and very flat, made hitting coyotes a bit easier at distance.

I prefer the 124gr +P Gold Dot since it actually expands and penetrates better in testing, testing that I have seen validated with numerous OISs.

I know of no one who issues the +P+ GD.

Penetration is a bit on the shallow side with the 115 gr +P+ Gold Dot; 124 +P Gold Dot is a better option, as ATK's own data demonstrates: http://le.atk.com/pdf/GoldDotPoster.pdf.

Thanks all. I'll be going with the 124 gr +P Gold Dot!
