View Full Version : great IWB for G19
Have seen a few threads in here looking for IWB advice... thought I'd throw this up in hopes it might help in someone's search. The only fear I had when switching to my Glock for carry was conceal-ability...TT Gunleather definitely got rid of that fear as this holster conceals better than my summer special did with my 1911 (I know a versa max would've been a better comparison...but I didn't have one)

That's a pretty holster. Too bad it's IWB, so nobody can see it.
Looks like a nice rig.

Looks great, functions even better. I'd definitely recommend it
Nice looking rig. For CCW of my G19 I have been using the Comp-Tac Minotar. Most comfortable IWB I've used so far. I love the fact that it's tuckable.

I've got the same holster from them for my G19 and love it. They offer a slight discount and shorter wait for LE/MIL but I still had to wait awhile... 4 or 5 months IIRC but worth it.
+1 for the CompTac MTac for my G19 and G26. Outstanding in all aspects.
For those who care, the belt is from AG

gives ya an idea for how great it is at sucking the grip in towards the body

Dang, my waist was about like that when I was 20. :shout:
How the comfort and access when riding in the car?
I've gone through a few different options to try to find the best of both worlds (concealment & comfort) and am currently running a OWB Don Hume.
It's a never ending quest for the right holster.

Perfect...I drive a wrangler and I forget the holsters on - haven't road tripped with it yet but I'm confident it'll be comfortable for a long haul
looks like a work head.
Huh?

25* haha but it won't last for long :lazy2:
I carry a G19 in a Occidental Stronghold Phoenix, a subsidiary of TT Gunleather that uses their design but with slightly cheaper materials, I love it, very comfortable and it carries well.

I have bought quite a few holsters in search of a "perfect" holster, but as of yet I haven't found anything yet that is comfortable in a vehicle...
I might have to give this one a try...
Is this the standard or UM slim?
like the OP i just changed holsters. for some reason i had it stuck in my head that a holster had to be small like the gun to conceal. i had a Kahr MK9 in a sparks summer special. i gave comptac a shot with their MTAC, for a glock 30. i swear it conceals better than that kahr. 100 times more comfortable. i went with the MTAC because you can order different bodies for different guns.

Do it you won't regret it.

Definitely true. I had my slimmer 1911 in a summer special and it was acceptable but any style with the belt loops close together is inferior to the wide set belt loops, IMO. I tried a SSII for my Glock and returned it in a day. Maybe Brownells gets the QA rejects from Milt Sparks but the holster was way too loose, stitched lopsided, and was uncomfortable as hell.
Looks like an interesting holster.
I'm only going by what I can see but my main concern would be non-reinforced mouth. I would be worried that over time the holster will soften up and reholstering would become a issue if the holster collapses after the gun has been taken out.
I understand the lack of the reinforcing leather makes the holster slimer but I believe there's a good reason the Versamax has one...

Good points, and something I questioned as well. However, priority for me was concealment and my ability to get the gun into action quickly. Ease/speed of re-holstering are some of the last factors I considered for my purposes.

you didn't find the comp-tac comfortable in a car? I have to be careful that I don't forget I am wearing it when I get out. I literally can't even tell that I am wearing that thing after a few minutes, might have to give it a few weeks to really break that thing in

I can't speak for TT gunleather but Brommeland leather is as stiff as kydex and I can't see it ever needing a reinforcement at the mouth.
head = restroom
Right on, knew that

It doesn't collapse as of yet. I'll confirm in a few months
