Crow Hunter

I have gotten the bug to try out archery. I haven't fired a bow in about 25 years and I would like to play with one.

I don't want to use it for hunting or anything. Just to play with.

Any archers on here? Anyone point me towards a decent setup for a reasonable price?

I don't want a compound bow. Recurve or longbow is what I am looking for.

Thanks

I recently got a Martin Jaguar take down recurve. Its only use is bowfishing, its gotten several carp and a gar so far. Its cheap, the take down setup looks like you could mess up the threads easily, but for $130 if I drop it over board I have not lost much. It shoots good enough for my purposes, but have not used it in any other capacity.

I recently started cruising the archery forums and there is a lot of talk about the Samick Sage takedown as a good recurve bow for cheap (@$120).

I haven't shot in a couple of years, but I have a Mathews compound and a Damon Howatt Hunter...those are now about $500 new from what I've seen.

If you do a search, you'll find lots of info.

Wish I could help you out but all of my bows are compounds. Try the archerytalk forum. 3riversarchery is a good shop for stick bow gear.
