I seem to recall seeing something a while back that basically said if you mounted an Aimpoint 3x Magnifier in the LaRue pivot mount, that you couldn't get it as close to the M4s as you could to a regular CompM4 because the battery compartment keeps you from flipping the mount to the right. I haven't had the chance to play with a 3x Mag/LaRue Pivot Mount and CompM4s, and I'm just looking to see if anybody can confirm or deny that one for me. Thanks.

yes, I remember that. but I believe it was Jeff that said that as he preferred the magnifier mounted as close as possible to the RDS and the low battery didn't allow enough room to move the magnifier forward one more rail slot, not that it interfered with tilting the magnifier down...

I don't know about the M4 but here is a picture of the M4s with the Larue Mount.

That is as close as I can get it. If I tried to move up another rail slot the hinge hits the battery switch before I make it to the notch.

It is also difficult to adjust the intensity of the dot with the Larue FTS mount in place.

The standard M4 wouldn't hit the hinge, but I don't know if their is enough room to move up a full rail slot.

If you find yourself looking for a regular M4, i've been wanting to trade for an M4s for forever...:D
