Gunshow AAR (beyond 5.56 options)

Went to my local show for giggles (its hot). It was a smaller show for Texas--5-6 serious vendors--50-60 smaller joints.

One thing that struck me:
All the 308s were Rock River.

Now its rare for me to see an LMT. I never see a LaRue.
But there were no DPMS or Armalite.
5-6 tables and everyone had the RRA 308. It was a serious wtf! moment.

As I was also on the lookout for 6.8 or 300 Blackout, that was a no-go as well. 1 left-handed Stag. A few 6mm
No 6.5
No 6.8
and Blank stares for 300 Blackout.

Also there were 2 Scar-16s. No Scar-17s.
Its getting so a guy can't even buy a "Tier 2" 308. (I did find a good class 3 dealer if I decide to get into the 300 Blackout/silencer/SBR)

Guess I need to go visit LaRue or get me a(nother) lower and talk to constructor about a 6.8

I have give up on gun shows. I guess my tastes have become to esoteric.

I was VERY surprised to see a couple of Noveskes around here a few months back but haven't seen any since. The last show in Ft. Worth had one LMT. I did see a lot of Armalite and DPMS .308's there but no RRA's at that one.

I think I mostly go just to window shop and people watch. :jester:

The last gun show I whent to last was at the Dallas market hall, it too was a disapointment. The place was full of overpriced RRA stuff and the occational Colt 6920 for $1200. It seems like once upon a time you would go to gun shows for the latest and greatest plus good deals, guess not anymore.
