Hey. Has anyone ordered any ammo from the Hunting Shack lately, and if so how long was the turn around?

I ordered 1K back in the first part of July for EAG Tactical's class in Dec and was quoted 6-8weeks at order time and still haven't seen it yet. When I email they always reply, but its always that they are working on it, it'll be soon, they are starting to ship, etc. I'm just trying to make sure I have my ammo for class.

Anyone received any lately? When did you order?

Thanks for any info!

You're scaring me!

I need to order some .45 SWC from them and your post makes me think I should be ordering now in order to have it by Christmas..... '08 Christmas!

Maybe they are filling orders for other calibers quicker? If all goes well with the .223 ammo I was planning to order some .45ACP too.

I ordered some .223 the end of June and it finally showed up about two weeks ago.

I have heard pistol ammo is shipping much quicker.

One good thing that impressed me about the company was that they honored the price they quoted me back in June. Since then I think prices are up about $60/1000.

I ordered 100,000 rounds in August and they still owe me 20,000 rounds of
.223. Rob the only caliber they are having trouble filling is .223 but I would order alittle in advance as they normally dont have stuff laying around and sometime have to make it.

They actually custom load the .45 I buy. Their standard .45 200GR SWC doesn't meet the minimum power factor for IDPA so I have them bump it up by 50 FPS to be safe.

Was notified today that my order was shipping today. My card was also charged. Same price as quoted when order was placed on 7/13/07. So that makes it what? 17 weeks as opposed to the 6-8 weeks quoted. I'll let you know how it looks when it arrives.

FYI-

I just received my ammo in. Cases are shiny and realtively clean. I tried to get a pic of the headstamp but couldn't get my camera to focus on it. Out of the 50 rounds I checked most of it I have checked is Lake City brass of various years (86-05), and 4 WCC, 1 Amerc, and 1 Federal. Here are some pics.

Sorry to dredge up an old post, but I wanted to give you guys a range report.

I bought this ammo for Pat's 3 day Carbine Operator's course.

It ran flawlessly. Zero malfunctions of any kind. Ammo was sufficiently accurate when shooting to confirm zero. I would and will buy again.
