I am willing to bet that this was an inside job. One has to wonder why they weren't locked up in an armory. I am also willing to bet these weapons are full-auto real deal AK74's(47's?) as well.

Will be intersting to see how this ends up.

I think the average tax payer would be amazed at the amount ordinance that "walks" off DOD installations each year.

MS-13, among others, are known to have infiltrated the .mil - for weapons AND for training. Unless the ATF was visiting THAT day they're my NEXT suspects...

OPFOR/NTC is at irwin, IIRC.

In addition to the desert warfare training and such, they probably used the weapons for foreign weapons familiarization training for personnel going to Iraq and Afghanistan.
