This mounting base came in the Leupold package with the scope so I presume it is a Leupold mount, however it is not in their catalog at all.

I do not know what type of mount it is. The brochure with the scope says there are two ways to mount this scope, one is with a 30mm ring and the other is a A.R.M.S. lever mount......this appears to be neither.

Even though the nut is tight I was able to loosen it with my fingers, so is this some type of "quick release" mount?

I can tighten it down with a wrench, a driver or a screwdriver thru the holes, however, that may make it so tight that it is no longer able to be "quick release". I have a feeling this is not a quick release mount, but I am not sure.

Do you know what kind of mount this is?

And who makes it?

It looks like it's just a base and not a mount almost. Sorry I couldn't get the photos to rotate.

I've seen the mount before but only in pics for airsoft gear.

Its a Leupold mount.
They show and list it as an included piece of kit on the website.

It's listed in the features on that page. Also if you will click on the below picture on the linked page it will give you further detail and pictures.

Looks like the one from the factory that comes with the Leupold. It's where the battery is too.
