I have a Quake sling that I plan to use for my hunting AR. It has the standard hunting type swivel attachments.

I have a Magpul CTR stock and plan on getting a ACS stock too.

I cannot seem to find a satisfactory way to attach this type of swivel to the butt stock.

The rail has a built in sling stud, so no problem

However, its the butt stock that is my problem.

Right now I am using a QD swivel attachment in the stock and connecting the sling swivel to it. I don't like it. Does anyone know of a better solution?

The only way around it is to loose the swivel attachment ! Just run the webbing the the attachments on the AR! Or buy a regular AR sling! :D

.

I could be wrong but I can't imagine a regular hunting rifle sling being advantageous on an AR. You will be just "making do".
Just save up and buy a VTAC or VCAS sling and you'll get to use the a QD on the HG point and the regular hunting sling swivel on the rear plus you'll have a sling that will allow you properly sling your AR.

You can come across these slings in EE for $30-$40 or so.

If you must use your sling, I would tie it to the QD very well with P-Cord.

But maybe it's just me...

Man!! The site is really jacked up! I wrote this Post at exactly 1:59, yet it gets posted 1-hour earlier. Sorry about that!

the swivel attachment is sewn on. I could cut the threads but not sure if it would stay.

My wife's aunt does some sewing, monograms, etc. She has some big machines for that. Maybe she could sew on the QD stud.

If she can't do it take it by a shoe repair shop. They'll sew it up for you for a couple of bucks.
