I came across this list of shops.

Anyone know anything about them, good or bad?

Carlson's, Briley's, of course, Seminole Gun Works all come to mind. Had my 1100 done at Briley's because I was working in the area. Would suggest checking out shotgunworld.com forums, too.

Probably want to ask if they are OK working on a short barrel before you send it off.

For sure. I wouldn't just put it in the mail without speaking to someone first.

Tom,
Let me ask you, I'm assuming you were happy with Briley's work?
I went through his site. The issue is I just don't know him. For all I know he's a guy with a pair of pliers and a dremel tool working from his room. I would really like some form of feedback.

I posted the same question in Shotgun world too.
