Preferably looking for someone local. I'm from the Dallas area, Terrell (Forney) specifically. If you're within a 2 hour drive, I'll come pick it up, or we can arrange something and I can compensate a little bit for your troubles.
I'm looking for a parkerized full-size 5" barrel 1911 with ambidextrous thumb safety. Preferably without a rail, but either way, I don't mind.
Specifically, my first choice is anything Springfield. I'd like to stay away from Kimber II series. I want a gun that will run reliably from when I pick it up.
I'm deployed to Afghanistan and will be home some time around the first week of September.
I'm not looking to spend $14-1500 on a gun. My absolute top dollar is $1200 for any 1911, period. I don't need a match gun. I need a face shooter. Realistically, I don't want to spend more than about $1000 on something, but again, $1200 is my realistic top dollar. I can't justify spending more than that on a handgun.
