Just got a few BCM CQB SBR's in. The website doesn't mention that the barrels on complete carbines are hammer forged. I pulled the hand guards and found "HF" in front of the usual HP MI markings. I see two types of barrels on the site, standard & BFH. The upper receivers aren't marked "BFH" on the left side near the delta ring. Would this mean they're hammer forged?

Anyone know what the "8" means stamped on the top of the barrel?

If the barrel has the HF marking, then I am 99.9% sure that it is hammer forged.

I thing the 8 is the Chrome lining mark. I'm guessing... because I thought that was the case with Colt Barrels.

Nice. Thanks for the replies. I've got an email into BCM but they seem swamped these days.
