TNVC is very happy to announce the Re-Focus Ring (RFR)

The patented RFR (Re-Focus Ring) is a revolutionary new night vision accessory available exclusively from TNVC. Manufactured by STS, it solves one of the biggest frustrations faced by night vision operators: having to adjust the device’s focus to view close-in objects. The RFR universally adapts to most issued night vision goggles and provides an instant close focus of 18” when flipped down in front of the objective lens. This gives the operator the ability to instantly re-focus his/her night vision goggle to close range and back. No more fumbling with re-focusing night vision goggles for close work. A quick flip of the RFR allows the operator to toggle back and forth while keeping his/her primary hand on the weapon. The RFR has been in service with special operations units for years.

The RFR is one of the most simplistic, yet revolutionary accessories for night vision goggles. Standard baseline focus of NODs is from about 15’ out. Anything closer starts to get progressively more blurry. Traditionally, the operator needed to manually refocus the objective and diopter or replace the objective lens cap on the goggle to get a close focus. This exercise often requires two hands and lots of fumbling in the dark. The RFR requires a half second to flip up or down, allowing the operator to refocus on the fly. This is a must-have accessory for tasks such as map-reading, administering first aid, etc. The list is endless. The RFR is a universal device that mounts to most popular and issued night vision goggles.

Guys, we can't say enough about the RFR. It opens up a whole new level of performance from your night vision goggles. The uses are endless:

-Read a map (hell, read anything)
-Administer First Aid
-Start an IV
-Secure a Prisoner/Suspect
-Clear a Type 4 Malfunction
-Operate Your Radio
-Sensitive Site Exploitation

We could go on, but you get the idea.

The RFR is exclusively available from TNVC. Shipping now :)

wow, if you could do that for a RDS, you'd make a box o' money...

Nice!

The AN/PVS-21 LPNVG has been fielded with these things, one for each objective at the user's discretion (or as the user is shoehorned into an SOP; whatever...). Flipping one down provided an automatic refocus of about 24"....right about the distance, more-or-less, for a set of pistol sights, as it turns out.

If you own your own NVGs and have never liked having to do your own refocusing, then you don't have a hair on your ass and should be re-named Suzy if you don't make an effort to avail yourself to this capability. Especially those that, having spent a couple K on the device itself, are somehow willing to quibble over a mere $140.

Clasky, does this RFR have the same break-away design as those with the PVS-21 do?

Or, was that aspect broomed IOT ensure secure mount, and the fold-back feature being depended upon to forego snags?

The break-away feature on the PVS-21 RFR is not on the universal model. It couldn't happen and still be made to universally fit so many different NVGs

Guess I better order one of these things. Nice work! I assume these are in stock and ready to ship? If so, no quibbles!

I'll admit it, I quibbled for about a second, then realized this solves a big deficiency of NOD technology, then I stopped quibbling.

Indeed, no quibbles here either brother! This all stopped when I first strapped a 21 to my melon some years back...I hardly mount anything since! The RFR is one of those items that solves many issues along the way.

Oh, and yes in stock ready to ship. Orders have been steady all day today. :)

It's reading glasses for NOD's! This is actually a really good idea.

That is awesome. Chip wish I had known about these when we ordered out 14's a few months ago. I will be getting one of these.
