BCM upper wear mark

Just purchased my upper from BCM and noticed this wear mark on the spot where charging handle would go. Does anyone know if this is a normal thing? Do they function check uppers with charging handles? This is my first build so it could be normal. No other marks on upper except this one. Thought I would ask others more knowledgable than myself. Thanks....

I don't know if I should laugh or cry. Yes, it is normal. I suggest that you spend some time looking at various pics and getting to know your AR.
