Do you plan on changing or cutting down that front sight/gas block?
I would personally just use a MOE drop-in hand guard on that if I wasn't worried about using rail space.

Yes it is. You really should use search as there's entire threads dedicated to this rail in the length you asked about.

Do not listen to this advice. Go with the idea you were planning on. Trim the day lights out of that FSB, you will need to so it will fit. It's not hard or very labor intensive. You will have an incredibly well handling carbine.

Then if that's the rail you want, go for it. It has great reviews. I personally am running a (Viking Tactics) VTAC Extreme Battlerail 13". They look somewhat similar.

Was there an issue with my advice? I was just offering him a cost efficient route since he didn't have a low pro gas block on it.

OP, I run an 11" TRX on my SBR, you will love it. By far the lightest rail I have ever used. It comes with barrel nut and wrench.

I have a thread and some pics from when I cut my FSB down and installed that rail.

Heres some pics, It only takes about 30 min to cut it down, save yourself $50.

Lol I wouldnt even bother with the hacksaw. If you have a big angle grinder...use it, it will go faster and knock it down better. Then us ethe Dremel for the detail work. The little sanding wheels...work AWESOME.

Get some bluing after that, youre GTG

There are some good trx threads floating around... look 'em up. With that said, the trx is still my favorite rail. Hands down. I like to run a noveske qd sling mount on both ends. Thinking of doing a mid length dissipator with the 11" version.

What is the QD mount that mounts to the TRX. I cant remember.

Its the rail-less mount designed for the TRX

I use the Noveske one.

Noveske is my favorite. AR performance isn't half bad, either... used one on my first trx.

Noveske $17.50 (http://noveskerifleworks.com/cgi-bin/imcart/display.cgi?item_id=trxqd&cat=165&page=1&search=&since=&status=)

Mount-N-Slot $16 (http://www.impactweaponscomponents.com/product/qd-micro-mount/)

I have both, and really have no preference. Buy whichever is in stock IMO.

Noveske seems to be the preferred, I opted for the mount-n-slot. Putting the retainer in the second groove was a chore. Use locktite blue if you choose this one. I like it's low profile. I have the 13" trx, I really like this rail.
