Any one have info on these? Prices? I'm looking to add to my tool box, I just came across these and I'm a little intrigued.

Dick,

I own one. They can be had for significantly less than 2500 (plus the $200.00 SBS tax) if you know where to look, shoot me a PM/email if interested . There were some very early units (around 50 if I heard correctly) that were grandfathered and only paid the AOW tax (5 bucks) but those are long gone.

There's the Breacher version (10"bbl, Pachmayr pistol grip) being sold as a stand alone unit, for about a grand. Not worth it in my opinion. Also, with the MCS you have to bear in mind many regular 870 accessories will not not fit or will need major mods, such as stocks & barrels, not that you need to add much to the MCS system as is.

The beauty of the MCS is just that, it's truly an "All in One" shotgun system built around one of the most reliable pumps ever. I'm trying to get into a Shotgun class in early 08 to put it through its paces, but at the range it's been flawless so far. (it's an 870 after all)...

I was in a Louis Awerbuck/Scotty Reitz shotgun class with some USAF PJs that were running these. I provided them a Micro T-1 to use with their MC870. The guns ran very well and they seemed to like them, esp. when combined with the Micro T-1.

I cannot believe they are charging that much.

Insane, even by Spartan standards.

Whoa! I'd have to have a whole lot of justification for that setup. Sometimes I question why I have an 870 at all, and the biggest reason is that IF I need it for food gathering, I have it. Here's my tactical setup. I also have a 28" Vent Rib barrel with tubes for fowl.

They are nice. Unfortunately the MCS we got are not the full kit. I'm still trying to find out what happened to the entire kits. I have 12 of them in the armory all kitless.

Off topic but, hey LtCol. Blish!!!!!!!!!

You may want to try one of the contacts at Remington Military. I've emailed/spoken with Ed Ryan before, and he's been very helpful.

I'd venture to say no since the true MCS receiver would be registered as an NFA item. Even the barrels are different. However, there's several people on Shotgunworld.com that have ordered and converted the forend to the MCS version.
