Red Jacket Firearms strikes again.
Just needs a railed forearm so it is "tactical."

Uhhhhhh, why?
I dont think I would pay for one, but they do look kinda neat.
Most creative gunsmithing i've seen in awhile. Almost makes me wanna start cutting up my sks. Reminds me of vz58, and type 81.

I actually kind of like it.
Reminds me of something you'd find cobbled together in Iraq.

Looks like something you'd find in Darra.
Looks like someone found a good use for Chinese SKS's.

Durkha durkha.

While it is the obvious joke, the SKS/FAL hybrid is actually way beyond the capacity of Red Jacket. It is actually the work of a very knowledgeable gun smith who can adapt and combine elements of both firearms and produce a functional rifle.
What's almost as funny is reading the experts at the link to the other forum. Gunluver is hilarious in his boldly stated inaccuracies.
Wow, a lot of creativity and skill there. Too good to be termed a "Bubba" gun. I'm trying to imagine the look on intel agency faces if they found those in some hot spot around the world instead of coming from an American gunsmith's shop.

That was going to be my comment...
I was inspired by the Suomi/AK hybrids 5 years ago and picked up a kit of each... they're still in the closet.
It takes some serious expertise to pull something like that off.
That's crazy! Do they work?

Fixed it for ya...

All i see is an SKS in a heavier FAL chassis.

... that takes AK mags and has superior ergonomics and sights.
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't take this over an AK, but it's not entirely useless.
As odd as it is there is something moderately intriguing about it.

Amongst other things, I'm curious if he can feed the AK mag with stripper clips through the SKS bolt.
Personally, I kind of like it.
In this instance "like it" doesn't mean I want one of my own or think its the ultimate in fighting rifles.

It does grow on you. Reminds me a little of that rare SKS variant Vickers has. Would be kinda cool to have a SKS basically set up like an AK.

For me - I love the creativity, and honestly it really looks good as a concept. (some of the execution is a but rough, but the overall look is very cool)
He ought to leave the conventional stock and install a full length barrel shroud. PPSH on steroids.

You mean a Chinese Type 81 Rifle.
I like em'. Like a box of random parts ****ed and resulted in a child.

That would be a game changa:eek::rolleyes:

Yeah, that one.

Just add a drum mag.

Saw the FAL/SKS hybrid a while back on hkpro or something and thought, "must have."
The skill to make it is too cool for words. Obviously the result of a lot of hard work. I think it is super neat.

It's amazing what some people can do.
I can't find the pic, but about 10 years ago there was a guy who made a modular AK hybrid that was multicaliber.
He had a Suomi barrel and also a PPSh-43 barrel secured by an Uzi style barrel nut assembly. Modular mag wells too. It was the most incredible feat of fabrication I've seen.
I was going to pick up a mag well from 2XTM and go for a straight 9mm AK like these:

Where there is a will, there is a way.
Well done.

that Sumio drum is as heavy duty as mil spec can get but carries a weight penalty. Still, 72 rounds is a lot of fun especially if you buy the cheap steel case stuff that may get in very short supply these days.
Custom mods of this sort when done right, are a lot of fun to produce. Its a hobby like no other!
