View Full Version : Question On Aimpoint Mounting

I've done a seach using various keywords, but haven't really come up with the answers I need.

I have been running an older Aimpoint CompM with an ARMS 17M68 mount along with the full 1/2" spacer that allows "center co-witness". All this mounted on top of a flattop receiver. Mount has been located slightly aft of the forward receiver line. Although somewhat dated, it has performed well for me and I see no reason to upgrade right now. I have however, swapped out to a Troy 13" TRX and BUIS.

Along with the aging CompM, my eyeballs have also seen better days. Always have had a slight astigmatism and now suffer from the usual growing far-sightnedness.

Are there any advantages to mounting the Aimpoint further out on the Troy? Asking this question as it relates to overall useage as well as my vision issue (s).

Appreciate the insight.
