F-ing allergies....

Petty Officer Jon T. Tumilson was laid to rest Friday in Rockford, Iowa, where an estimated 1,500 mourners came to pay respects for the fallen Navy SEAL, including his dog Hawkeye. In fact, Hakeye’s loyalty to his owner at the funeral was visible, creating a heart-wrenching image as he laid down by the casket of his owner during the entire service:

Greater love hath no man, than he lay down his life for his friends.

And I find it unsurprising that such a man would inspire such loyalty.

Fair winds and following seas, Petty Officer Tumilson.

In early August 2009 my sister and myself found our mom dead on her bathroom floor, and her dog was standing next to her.

I get really choked up when I look at that picture... it says so much about loyalty (of a SEAL for his country and a dog for his man).

Man...that's so sad.

God bless him, his family, his Seal buds and Hawkeye.

One of the saddest images I've ever seen. Makes me want to spoil my dog even more.

It's amazing the bond that develops between the warriors and their dogs. My dog and I spend a ton of time together hunting, training and running trials and so on and we have a great bond but I believe the bond between our warriors and their dogs is definitely on a different level.

Very sad picture. RIP PO Tumilson!

You'll never see a cat do that.

Prayers for Tumilson's family and friends.

Yes, exactly.

The friends and family PO Tumilson left behind, while grieving and saddened by his death, can at least understand it. Hawkeye can't, making it that much worse for him.

RIP, PO Tumilson ... and thank you for your service and sacrifice.

Incredibly difficult to see that picture and not get emotional.
